| 1950's Dixie RV Cookstove |
I spent 2 wonderful weeks with my grandma and sis in Stoverstown, PA - harvesting, pealing, chopping, drying, freezing and eating fruit. We clothed ourselves in overalls and bandanas and stalking feet, sang as we walked and laughed while we talked. Pleasure was plentiful. But my growing desire to nest kept leading me to Craigslist. I spent many an hour scouring the pages searching for elements of my visions. When I saw this stove for $40 I didn't waste a minute, the next day my dad went to pick it up and talked the owner down to $20.
Yes it needs some (major) cleaning but not so bad for an antique.
I have that SAME Dixie stove in one of my vintage campers!! It is an AMAZING find. Those are worth a LOT more than $20, haha :) Mine's from 1959, and it still works like a charm. Things were built to last back then!
ReplyDeleteCelina, I think we have the same eye for salvaged materials and appliances! I am building my own Tiny House out of a vintage camper from the 1960's. I've been restoring vintage campers for a few years now, and have a few from the 50's and 60's. I've been told it's an odd hobby for a 20 year old to have haha.
