The Art of Manifestation

Throughout this ongoing process of design I have been focusing much of my energy on manifestation. Finding and acquiring the materials I want and need to create this  dream. Many think manifestation is exercising and harnessing the power of thoughts, or the law of attraction. While others think its god or some higher power. While it probably is a combination of all of these, I believe the biggest component is action. Trust me, I have tried focusing my thoughts and energy on something happening. But nothing happens until action is taken.

My most meaningful accomplishment in manifestation so far, with the help of my dad and sister, is two wonderful trips to Europe. Though finances were at an absolute minimum, traveling in a grass roots way, experiences so lush with adventure sprang out of unexpected places and people. I believe simply because we were willing to act on our desires - with a sense of adventure.

Now applying the same concept on a smaller scale (or just a different one) I am in a state of awe at the people and things that I have come upon. It started with an idea - lets build a portable tiny house. The first thing I needed to get started was a chassis to build on - the "foundation." I made that clear to my self, then I spoke about it to the people around me. My dad happened to be the one to say "I know someone who might have what your looking for."….. and the next day I had a heavy duty chassis for $200.

And that's just the beginning - from finding the "perfect" sink on craigslist and having it be just down the road, to going for a walk on the beach after a wind storm and having the "perfect" distressed beam laying in our front yard. It could be coincidence, or maybe not. But either way my eyes were open to the possibilities.

Sometimes all we need to do is make that call or send that email, and as my dad is teaching me. Follow Through.
Take action,

Celina

  2. Families can be the best way to manifest a good life - maybe not riches, but a richness of life.

  3. I love this! Thank you for the reminder. Was just talking with Rain about this very thing earlier this week - but you said it much more succinctly! Going to point her to this if she's not already subscribed...

Liked your dad's comment. Have been reading a book called "Someplace Like America: Stories from the New Great Depression" and thinking about ways The New American Dream (especially post-WWII and the rise of Madison Avenue) has harmed us - causing people to worship consumerism, promoting the illusion that once you reach a certain level of income or physical beauty or knowledge everything will magically be "okay" - defining someone as "poor" if they're not squarely in the middle class. And what IS the middle class now anyway?? I vote we redefine "poor" as someone who is emotionally/spiritually/mentally isolated or disconnected, and someone as "wealthy" if they are connected to community, family (whether biological or not), the Earth and their own heart!

  5. Celina!
it IS amazing how manifestation happens. I love the process of gathering materials for a build project...I have really enjoyed harboring the salvaged materials for my own Tiny House project. I always say, ask the universe and the universe will provide. And it always does! I love what you are doing and at such a young age! When I was in high school I dreamed of buying and living in a vintage camper. Now I'm 21 and have begun building my own tiny dream house on wheels. Like your house, I love using salvaged materials, and it's also really important to me that my tiny home be beautiful, healthy, elegant, and kinda kooky. You're awesome.

  7. You rock, Celina. I saw the link to the newspaper article on Twyla's facebook. You are doing something really cool here. Dreams do come true, and as you have noted, they spring into being through ACTION. I'm eager to see how this progresses. Hugs to you! ~bridget

  8. It's AWESOME to see other people interested in Tiny houses who keep a blog so I can read their posts and oggle at their pictures and maybe, JUST MAYBE, take something and use it in my own Tiny house.

What is even more awesome is your quote "Don't let your dreams be dreams, just do it." because I am most definitely snagging it and posting it as my Colon D for today, and OF COURSE I'm going to link back to you and your blog because you are awesome. [Colon D is a post I keep about making your life better through the little things, You made my life better with your quote so I am SURE it will make other people's lives better :) ]

I also noticed that you are looking for an antique British phone booth...That's SUPER neato but I can't help you with it...yet. But to make it up to you I DO have a decent amount of experience with both AC and DC electrical work, if you were interested I would be happy to walk you through the installation and wiring of your house/battery bank/redundant systems/whatever else you wanted to learn. [I am assuming that you would want to have a 110v grid tie in with it's own fuse box for the house since you have a gas range and wouldn't need 220v.]

Reading your blog has been a pleasure and you are just a peach! I love it and look forward to more.

    Thank You,

    1. Nathan,

I am so glad I can be of inspiration to you! Your tiny house plans look great, you have really thought things through!

I would love some help with electrical stuff! Where are you located? That might determine the effectiveness of sharing your knowledge.
