  1. This is a beautiful picture! I love all the vines growing on the trailer...it would be so neat to have a tiny house covered in plants and vines!

  2. Hi there Celina,
We just read your story and the Record and think your project is great. We have a 17"x36"x3/4" slab of black marble with white striation that we would happily donate.

  3. David and Kate,

Thank you so much for the offer, but I just acquired some marble. The article had the wrong list of needed materials (my blog is now updated). But I will keep it in mind and see where els I could fit it in. Maybe a bathroom counter or floor!

    Thanks again!

  5. Celina, I just read about you on the Tiny House Blog and wanted to say Congratulations! on what you're doing. You seem to be a pretty sensible young woman with a great interest in building, and I think you could be an example for other kids on how to prepare for their future.

Once your home is complete, will you have any plans to mentor others who might want to do the same thing?

I wish you well as you continue to make your dream come true, and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

  7. Hey Celina!

I too read about your project and am so proud of you! I run a blog, www.tinyhousewisdom.com which contains a lot of info on various issues, such as what the professionals say about towing and more importantly, safety. When doing it themselves, many tiny housers leave off planning for the latter, and with potentially disastrous results. Please read my blog posts about safety and make sure you get the best advice out there!

Kudos to you and to your accomplishments! I wish all the people your age were so minded!

    1. Thanks Annie!

I have spent much of my time talking to trailer experts, architects and makers of things. I am doing my best to think of every safety issue and dealing with it. I will read your blog posts and further learn about these issues.

  10. HI Celina, Nice job doing what you like best working with your hands....Only one thing I thought of was that your trailer is too wide to pass DMV ROADS RULES..OF 101" WIDE..Make sure you check with DMV on your rules you might not be able to move it....Your trailer looks like it 10FEET wide....just a thought .....MIKE

    1. Thanks for the concern Mike, but I decided to go over the everyday road limit in order to create a certain space. I will need to buy a $25 dollar permit every time I move it. But because it is only moving every couple of years, I thinks its worth it!

      Celina : )

    2. Wait…wait, did you just say $25!!! That's it! I pictured a grand. Thanks for this, being over 6' tall, I may just go wider now! Ha Ha! Any other advice you could give me on width rules? I would love to hear more!

  14. Hi, Celina,
Cheering you on in your tiny house endeavors. I designed and "co-created" the SingPeace! gypsy wagon in 2009. Noting your mold concerns, I want to recommend a website: Mold Rx 4U, http://moldrx4u.com/

I'm here on Whidbey. I work with essential oils and will do what I can to help you stabilize and eliminate the mold. It's worth a try! My wagon roof will need to be redone due to mold on the Gaco Roofing over canvas exterior. Good advice for repair waits on the weather...and an indoor shelter to dry it out.

    All the best to you!
